ok. the title's for me. i kinda surprised myself for actually finding time to making an entry. and that's because im foregoing lunch to work on a stupid program and blogging while im waiting for a result. go figure.

anyway, looking back, 2006 was pretty uneventful which was basically what i expected. and that's a good thing actually, since i hate surprises (unless it's an xbox 360 or something).

personally, it was pretty great. friends. family. everyone's ok, so that makes me pretty ok too. ok? ok.

professionally, well, it was pretty disappointing. i didn't get the promotion i was going after (obviously, blackmailing the boss doesnt work all the time). i kinda lost the drive for work somewhere during the early part of the year, so i guess we're even. my performance got sloppier this year, but i guess that's just the realization i have a sucky job and a suckier company finally settling in.

on the online side of things, well my friends' list kinda got a whole lot leaner. havent heard from guys like cham, notwocanoccupy, louise, nicole, carizz, fae. And then there's atreo signifying her decision to stop blogging, and mimay too, who's migrating.

i guess, it's pretty understandable. we all need to move on sometime. we can't expect each other to be blogging for a decade do we?

so there, 2006, has its own equal share of disappointments and contentment. im sure if i weighed the negatives, it'd outweigh the positives, so im just convincing myself that it's been a pretty good year. (denial can be good at times).

and now, we find ourselves at the beginning of 2007. unfortunately, the new year started with a pop for me -- my back to be more specific. yes, all you concerned peeps out there, i managed to find myself confined to a hospital a few days back because of a bad back. the prognosis: a slipped disk. nifty huh? few years shy of being 30 and i feel like an old man already.

of course, this prompted me to go on leave the past few days (thus the silence) and cancellation of my annual out-of-town trips. (and here i was hoping i could get lucky with an OFW in HK. kidding).

not to be alarmed though, according to the manly buffed doctor who likes to stroke my lower back all the way down to my ass, all it would take is a few medications and a few trips to the chiropractor and i wouldnt need surgery.

so, no strenuous exercises for now (as if i actually do them) and especially no sex (which i dont get any either). so, when you look at it that way, well, 2007 isn't that far different from 2006.

and that note i wrote last year about having big plans at the start of this year? well, i kinda jinxed it. yep. somebody out there who reads my blog probably has a birthmark on his/her ass the size of manila. thank you very much.

yep, looks like i'll be stuck with my company for the next couple of years or so since my plans of signing a lucrative offer from another company hasnt materialized. sure, i got tons of offers, but not enough to make me actually want to work.  yep, im actually content, sitting on my ass 9 hours a day, doing nothing and getting paid, half a hundred thousand grand (no need to mention that im just rounding it off to the next 50,000 ) a month. not big, but at least i get to say 'work was boring' at the end of the day, every single day.

so there. from the looks of things, 2007's gearing up to be pretty much like 2006. cheers!
