Well, I should've known better not to take a 3year old kid born in the 21st century up on a bet when it comes to electronic games. The nephew just wiped the floor with me on his PSP.
Kids nowadays are so much smarter. When i was his age, i didnt even know how to answer the phone. My nephew on the other hand can turn on the PC, click on a link and play his favorite game on nick.jr.
Not only that, he knows how to operate every single phone of all the family members. That's ignoring the fact that we use different brands. The kid's a freak.
Anyway, since the kid beat me, I had to take him to Fun Barn. It's a pretty cool place near Tiendesitas for kids to run amok in. Of course, I wasnt doing the driving and the rest of the family didnt need any prodding aside from the nephew's. No one could say no to him. He's that adorable.
So last Saturday, we packed the kid and a few change of clothes for him as well as my parents, my sibs, my brother in law and the helper into the van and made an early noon dash to Tiendesitas.
Much to my surprise, I enjoyed the place as much as my nephew did. Everyone who loves kids would love the place as well. The place was literally crawling, running and overrun by them. I could barely hear myself think over the laughter, wailing and shouts for yayas.
There were a lot of little tikes doing all sorts of stuff: eating, running, painting, playing. It was like finding yourself in the middle of never never land. Only, there were grown ups and not enough pirates. And you cant fly either, even if you mustered all the happy thoughts you have. All you get are odd looks from people and a few very disturbed and concerned stares from parents as they guide their kids far, far away from you.
Of course, while watching the kids, my paternal instincts got stirred up. I do so want kids now. I want a little girl and a little boy of my own. And there were lots of cute ones there that I had to resist the urge of kidnapping a couple.
And of course, where there are kids, there surely are to be their moms. And all I can say, is well, I am getting old. I'm attracted to moms! Can you believe that? Of course it doesnt help to see them with their adorable kids, and you start to think what a wonderful parent they would be to your kids, and how beautiful your kids could be. And it also doesnt help that theyre without their husbands who are probably out playing golf or a business trip.
I was actually ogling at three gorgeous moms the entire time I was there. Darn, Im really getting old. Not to mention desperate. I miss the days when I was hitting on girls from exclusive high schools.
Anyway, after a few hours, we bought some groceries at the nearby Hypermarket. The little nephew wanted some pizza so I told him that we could just make one. He was so excited that he kept pointing to all sorts of things to put on the pizza we'll be making and I had to keep telling him, "I dont think the pizza would taste good with Honeystars on it." and "We cant spread chocolate milk on it either." Crazy kid.
And as soon as we got home, we took out the ingredients out of the grocery bags and spread them all over the kitchen table.
Of course, I did the slicing and the grating and put them in bowls for the kid to help me garnish the pizza with. After all the ingredients have been prepared, I put the pizza doughs on the table and dumped the tomato paste on top of them. The nephew then spread the paste all over the dough and the kitchen table too.
After that, we sprinkled the grated cheese all over the pizza (not to mention on the floor), put the sliced bell peppers, pepperonis, and onions. Looks like the kid has some talents in cooking.
We then popped them into the oven, cooked it for a while, and shared the pizza with the entire family. Not to brag, but they taste just like the one's from Greenwich. So it's either we're that good, or they're that bad.
