32 hours a day

Posted by fartalot at 08:58 AM on May 1, 2007 in notizie.

you'd thunk that with all the time i get to spend in front of the computer, being a programmer and all, id actually have more time to update this blog. unfortunately, it doesnt work out that way.

take now for example. it's a holiday right? and i have my laptop in front of me the entire day. so i should be able to blog a pretty decent entry. but the unfortunate truth is i still cant. im doing work.

and the only other times that i can actually write a long enough entry is the 10 minute quiet i need before i fall asleep and that 15 minute morning dump.

and i cant even get my all too important 12 hour sleep anymore. i only average 5-7 hours a day the past few months. even on weekends, ill have to wake up early with all the things i need to do (which is still related to work).

i guess my boss finally got wind that ive been twiddling my fingers 8 hours a day for the last year and decided i need to do more with my fingers than twiddle.

24 hours isnt enough nowadays. i miss being a kid.

conditioning the mind of the electorate

so Team Unity came out with a press release that the administration slate is actually taking 8 out of the 12 available senate seats in the absentee voting held in HongKong based on the exit polls.

Unfortunately, i don't think anyone's buying it. But it's more unfortunate that it's actually their ploy to condition our minds that theyre actually winnning. I mean, how can they actually convince the Filipinos there to vote for them when Hongkong is one of the sites that Filipinos are actively protesting against this administration. Wasnt Arroyo booed over there?

It all reeks of 2004 when they said that Arroyo's leading in the exit polls, wherein they delayed the ballots from the provinces that would have put Poe and  Legarda in the lead just up until Namfrel stopped their quick count with Arroyo leading the polls. We all know what happened then: People were convinced she actually won, when in fact it's pretty doubtful.

Now, theyre doing it again. And theyre doing it bit by bit. One little bite at a time. Before we know, theyve gobbled up the entire cake.

And I cant believe that Comelec's not disqualifying Defensor and Zubiri for being in HK, a day before the election. Even with their lame excuse that they were there to congratulate the OFWs, everyone and their mothers know that they went there to campaign. And what are they doing? Theyre waiting for people to file complaints, instead of being proactive and investigating it. I mean, if you were the police and you saw a dead body in front of you, wouldnt you investigate it instead of waiting for the dead person to wake up and file murder charges?

Stupid comelec.

The Houston Rockets just got booted out of the playoffs by the Utah Jazz. Poor T-Mac. I hope you bounce back stronger next year and leap into the western conference finals.

I need a life.
