longest days

Posted by fartalot at 04:32 PM on July 1, 2008 in notizie.

my life took on a semblance of a season of 24. it felt like today would never end.

but im glad im walking away from it all in one piece. tired. but alive. no gunshot wounds neither.

still, i wonder why often in life, youre pushed to your limits. your physical endurance tested. going on triple shifts. waking up at 2am to answer a call from your overseas client. meeting deadlines. i mean, who plans these things anyway? and why, for the  love of God, do we subject ourselves to these things. and then our fatalistic reply would always be: part of the job or c'est la vie.

c'est la vie my ass. pardon my french.

what a rush

Posted by fartalot at 02:57 PM on July 17, 2008 in notizie.

looks like the surging oil prices have a positive effect in our everyday life: lessened traffic

it usually took me around an hour to an hour and a half to commute to work (queueing notwithstanding). but now, it only takes me an hour and sometimes as short as 45minutes.

getting home is even better. whereas it used to take me an hour, just now, it only took me about 30minutes. I swear. The streets are practically empty. The usual bottlenecks are still there, but traffic is moving faster.

traffic has gotten so light that it's sometimes better to take a shuttle or a bus than the MRT. really.

my brother-in-law has taken to commuting nowadays because it saves him gas, just takes as long to drive, and he can even relax during the commute. my brother on the other hand, is thinking of moving back in and try commuting to work everyday as the traffic isnt as heavy as it used to be.

i just hope that gas doesnt get too expensive that we'd be forced to commute on family trips as well.
